The ARTFL Encyclopédie Project, in collaboration with the city of Langres, is pleased to offer our users high quality images of a selection of plates assembled as part of the « Lumières - L'Encyclopédie revisitée » project. Both playful and poignant, these re-imaginings by contemporary artists of some of the Encyclopédie's most iconic plates attest to the lasting cultural significance of the Encyclopédie as a enduring and ever-evolving object of study.
